AI is both a tough and delicate subject to touch on; but yet, it is fascinating.
You are right every single design from AI is designed for interest; but remember, it is designed by humans, even with all the logic and algorithm formula behind.
IT is however, beyond just robots. They are just the 3D version of what we created
AI is very much useful to assist the human life; by gathering data and using the first coded logic to gather and produce selection result, with the help of technology.
But that becomes complex because LI (living intelligence - Humans - my own take) have their own slight flaw; which is "self interest". As long as "self interest" is programmed (by the designer), there will always be conflict of interest. And just how we LI were designed, how perfect it is (look at our biology), there's a flaw from the designer's original code; AND that can be incorporated into the AI's core logic; which could complicate things like "terminator sci-fi-horri-ish" imagination for the future.
By the way, speaking of AI on eating and sleeping. There's already a form of it, with apps observing your sleeping pattern and create statistics, and suggests your sleep pattern; including what to eat if you chose to log in all your food intake.
It all started with as simple as a manual alarm clock haha
I know for one that Waze already have a "sort of" AI in it that now it learns your driving habits against the time you travel, and automatically suggests the routes you should take.
So yes, I think sleeping and eating AI (as advisors) is pretty much in progress, if not already out there.
Good read, and thought provoking. Keep up with this niche.
