The Time That is Given Us | Ramses Ralvacast - Introduction

in artist •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hello, fine people of Steemlandia!

My name is Ramses Ralvacast, & I have a good problem.

I make art & entertainment.
That isn't the good problem, but it is what I make.

...And I make a fair amount of it: Visual art, music, writing, directing, hosting a comedy podcast, and starring in/producing online content from inception to finish line; my life is a creative all-you-can-eat buffet (the surprisingly delicious kind, not the kind you took a chance on that gave you sci-fi diarrhea for days). This buffet has lead to my good problem: I'm a man with more creative options than I have hands to juggle them. (Granted, it's one of the better catch 22s.)

Micro-bio: Growing up in South Florida, I never really appreciated how unusual it was that I didn't feel lost at sea regarding purpose. On the contrary, I had a spotlight, shining bright on my crystalline dreams. It may be odd to say (and I'm not sure childhood me would have thought to put it this way), but I've always known what I want to do with my life: connect .

To connect with you, and -as cliche as it sounds- to move you, to spark wonder; to light up your imagination and stay with you, the same way every picture and sound of my childhood has filled my heart and mind from then to this very day.

I want to carry that spirit, and pass it on, from me to you, through art & entertainment.

You would think being certain about your calling makes things a lot easier, and it does, but as is the case with many "solutions," being certain only makes certain things easier. Sure, the troubles that come with feeling devoid of purpose are gone, but now standing in their place is the looming, shape-shifting puzzle of time management.

The mind whispers, "so you know what you want to do. Good for you. Exactly HOW, WHEN, and in WHAT ORDER are you gonna do these things??"

It's in that respect that I feel like the crazed dog that chased the car, and caught up to it. Now here I am, panting next to a BMW full of my ideas, & reeling from what I can only describe as opportunity overload. The thought that I don't know what the "proper" next move is eats away at me, but I'm grateful to know where I'm headed (even if I'm driving in the dark for now).

Life can be short, and considering none of us are on that Peter Thiel Voldemort/Dracula blood regimen, I'll wrap this intro up by saying that I'm excited to be here with you all. Hopefully, in time, I can earn the honor of your enthusiasm for what I do.

Till then I'll be here, working away, and learning to juggle like Shiva.

welcome ralvacast! Glad to see your here

Thank you! Very much appreciated.

Welcome To Steemit! Your biggest challenge now is how can you grow from a minnow to a dolphin and then to a whale. Fortunately, it’s not as hard as it seems.

If you post great content and involve yourself in the Steemit community you’ll grow a large following in no time at all.

SteemitVideos is a project created by @spencercoffman dedicated to helping you grow on Steemit. All videos will be posted here directly from the YouTube channel.

Welcome to Steemit! Looking forward to viewing your art and being "moved"!

Thank you! ...And wow, this is embarassing. I'm only now realizing I never specified that the art and the moving part are actually offered seperately...
