Curator's critique
Julian is a 22-year-old German traveler and photographer who, at 18, decided to travel around the world and follow his passion for photography. Art that he practices since he was 9 years old. —Amazing, right? Is that his perseverance has led him to today have an impressive photo gallery which he sells in the digital world.
I knew Julian through Steemit, he was one of the first travelers I followed. His photography speaks for itself and I loved reading the story about how he decided to travel for 17 months.
Julian's photographs are associated with the places he has met during his travels, he captures landscapes, streets and people. The photographic portraits that he makes show us expressions and characteristic features of the local people.
A sample of his spectacular artworks is the photography of this post, where:
Intensity and contrast of colors captures the attention, the photographer made a good frame to get a proper depth of field, combined with the sunset make this picture a magnificent composition. Not for nothing this is one of the best-selling pieces of this artist.
Focusing is also outstanding, we can clearly see details of the houses on that street in Camaguey, Cuba, as well as people at the entrance and upper part of houses. The lighting adds significant value, the photographer achieved an excellent balance with the shadows, creating an artwork that can transmit emotions to the viewer.
Photography has no elements of distraction, everything is in the right place. The small vehicle next to the light pole adds to the Cuban street's scene. Even the cables that cross add character and reality to the image.
Conclusions
It is an honor for me to write an opinion of such an excellent artwork, I am an apprentice of photography, for that reason, make a review of photographers and travelers like Julian is totally a challenge!
This photo speaks for itself, it's wonderful!
This is a great review, I need to learn how to write an Art critique like this. The photo reminds me a painting a lot (in a good way) and I don't know why
