A Very Cold Day

Hello artstorm community, how is everyone? I am glad to be back here, there was an error showing when I upload a photo using chrome browser. Some steemit apps provide a quick fix for now.

This is my digital art entry for today's theme. The story today features the family of the field mouse. He left home one winter day searching for food, this was mentioned on the first few scenes of the story.

The Blue Bells

Scene 33: Hot Chowder

Outside Gardenlane Park, is a vast farm land. Depending on the season, the fields change in color like golden when wheats are the choice of harvest, green for the most part of the season and so on. It is still quite winter on this side of town. The crops that remained are frozen and impossible for consumption.

Inside a nook under ground lives a small family and some neighbors. This is the family of the field mouse who is now staying in Debbie's house. He's been gone for a couple of days now because of the series of unfortunate incidents. Its very cold inside the nook there is no source of heating. The family of three consists of a mother mouse and two kids. The mother mouse cooked whatever was left from the past season. She managed to prepare a chowder to keep them warm and full. Her children are too lazy to move about especially the big one. The weather could be blamed somehow.

Tomorrow is not certain. What they have now is what they can be happy about. They have each other and a few friends in their circle and some thyme and berries on the wall. Enough to make a hearty breakfast tomorrow. The younger mouse had fallen asleep while waiting for his chowder.
