UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have made an exception and we have one more participant #9 and the deadline was extended till 12 pm September the 3rd.
I am back and I had a fantastic vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!! GEORGIA IMPRESSES! Soon there will be many posts with gorgeous photos)).
I would like to thank all the participants as you impressed me again with your creativity and talent! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!! There are not many entries this time but they are FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is the time to choose the winners!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let me remind the terms of our contest. We investigate art styles not theoretically but practically. I offer a style and theme and participants make their works in accordance with theme.
Last TASK WAS REALISM + VILLAGE LIFE.
Below you will see the entries with numbers. I will not mention names but, of course, you can easily find the authors. In the comments you write the number of the artwork you like.
I know there are many competitions here and in other social media where people ask friends to vote for them. I don't mind. But not in my contest!
Let us be honest and don't do that! PLEASE. I want the best paintings to win but not that one who have more friends. So, I don't want artists - participants send requests to their friends to ask to vote for them. But the participants and others have a right (it is even desirable) to send the link to the friends and ask to choose the best paintings.
Allowed
- ask friends to choose the best painting
- participants can vote for other works
Prohibited
- to vote for yourself
- to ask friends to vote for you
Please upvote, resteem and write the number in the comment.
PLEASE SUBMIT THE NUMBERS OF THE BEST PAINTINGS BY TOMORROW September 03, 2017 (noon Moscow time)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And on Sunday night I will announce the winners.
DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE THEME WHEN CHOOSING THE WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, the entries in random order. Please let me know if I missed any entries!!!!!!! Too long travelling and the tag doesn't show all the entries))).

I'm really liking number 4 (two boys with spray bottle) and number 7 (ice fishing), and just for the record I made my entry specifically for this challenge :)

Wow! I am so impressed with all the images here. I am going to have to go with my gut and vote for #3 because that colors, composition and energy really speak to me. When I scrolled down and waited for an internal reaction that one just goes "bang".

Whereas these are all incredible pieces of art the only one that seems to be close in the realm of classical realism is #7 and so that is my vote based off of the criteria laid out. If I were just looking at art this would be a very difficult choice, I really love the first three yet, they are done in another style altogether -- they fit the 'Village' theme so seamlessly and beautifully, there is no doubt these are village life scenes.
I am not sure if anyone produced a new piece of art for this challenge, it seems to me with such misses to the challenge that these are older works that people are trying to loosely fit the parameters, again that is also a judgement call of perspectives.
I live art, it is my means of a living and all I do -- I hope I have not come off as harsh or flippant, as I said, these are all great pieces of art and yet none really hit the mark of the challenge.
I take this so seriously that the oil painting I created for this challenge I am not entering as I somehow missed the part about village life. Now, I could have entered it hoping that having painted something new and in the Classical Realism method (which is my favorite), yet, not a village scene, would have been good enough, but I decided not to. I know if I had done that at any academic level I would of received some rather harsh criticism risking my chances in the future of being exhibited for not following the guidelines. University did teach me to have a thick skin and to make sure I understood the task at hand (I was a rebel and learned these lessons the hard way)... art school was rough.
All this said, beautiful art and it's great that Steemit is a platform for all of us.
You are the best @aksinya, I really admire you and what you are doing. <3
*Of course I am sharing as I will share all the art challenges I come by.. I believe in the process.

Thank you so much for your opinion. And you are right about the first artist. She even wrote about it in her post by herself. Other artists had doubts too if they meet all the requirements. But the paintings are beautiful and I let people choose the winner. If you have a ready one I will be very happy to add to this post even if it doesn't meet all requirements of the task. And let people choose the winner. I can even extend the deadline for voting)))). Please make a post with your painting for this contest. )))

You are such a kind and generous person. <3
I will post it (it's nearly finished, as you know the last parts make the most impact... glare, reflections, shadows.. ect.. those thin glazes... oils take their time).. and you may look on my page but I feel it's not right to enter it, Plus, the subject matter is a bit scandalous. lol. I am just happy to have a new painting out of the process. ;)
This is a bit of feedback for future competitions: What if you extend the time line for completion and the judging panel and make a stipulation that the art be created for the challenge (new art)? I think that's a wonderful way to go, it's very much how it's done at university. The great thing is that each of the artist end up with new works to add to their body of work and the camaraderie that comes with a level playing field.
As ever,
much love-

Thank you for the feedback @mamadini . My entry is number 4 and I created it fresh, just for this challenge. I admit this style is not my forte and almost hated it but I decided to just go ahead and submit it. I hope you will submit yours we will love to have more participants for this theme.

Me too! What fun to end up with new works, so not matter what the artists win because it adds to the body of work. :)
