Art With Words Contest #3 Theme: Music

when you are happy you enjoy the music but when you are sad you’ll listen carefully to the music to understand the meaning of the music/lyrics you’re listening to.

This is my entry to @photoquest's Art with Words Contest #3

The theme is music so I made a simple yet colourful doodle for the word music.

Music really helps or boost my mood, if I am in good vibe or not, when I’m going to take a bath I always sing when I have time that my siblings will react to me because whenever I sing in the bathroom literally it will take time for me to finish well it’s my studio though hahaha.

When I was in high school, if we will be going to have quizzes or exams I always listen to music because it helps me to memorize more (sometimes only because sometimes I can’t concentrate because I know I am going to sing along with the music) or focus on my studies, sounds cliche right because when you memorize or you need to focus you need a place where it’s silent yet I can’t focus sometimes when there’s no music. :D

Actually, when I did this I was listening to my all-time favourite Japanese rock band, One Ok Rock because I still have PCD (Post Concert Depression) on their concert last January 29, 2018.

fun fact about me: I love to listen to all genres in music except for budots (remix music made by Davaoneos?) and some music in the party or disco since I am not a party goer person.

Mongol 2 pencil
Eraser
Sharpener
Bond paper
Technical pens (0.2 & 0.5)
Watercolour pencils

Work in Progress

• Quick sketch

• I traced it using my technical pen 0.5

• Then I erased the trace of the pencil by my eraser that is so very small now.

• I started colouring black on the edges of the mouth or tongue then I draw many slanting lines for the speaker.

• The opposite directions for the slanting lines.

• The outcome for the speaker.

• I continued to the shading or colouring the area where it needs the colour black like the eyes of Domo-Kun the DJ of my doodle haha. And also for the shadow or the black area of the word music and those edges for my drawing.

• Since I am done with the colour black, I proceeded to colour Domo-Kun into brown.

• I coloured his headphone into three colour, orange, blue and pink.

• My phone got the battery low so I didn’t wait to capture on how I coloured the word music and etc.
  After I coloured its headphone I continued on the mouth and tongue, I used 2 colours on red and pink, then 5 different colours for each letter in the word “music” and for the speaker I used grey, silver and pink.

• I coloured the notes into yellow, light blue, light green and orange or yellow-orange or so whatever haha (because I don’t know :( )

• Then I added the note, G clef, and I coloured it into different colours.

So this is the final output of art with words theme music. :)
