Hello my Steemian friends!
Today I want to share with you my latest tutorial: How to Model a Cougar in Clay.
I love big cats and find especially beautiful cougars (mountain lions). In this case what I did is a fairly rapid sketch, with no much detail, but with character (I hope!).
Here is the list of materials I used:
Note: I have been buying my modelling tools for many many years and in different countries, therefore, today I couldn't find the exact tools I used in this video. But following are equivalent ones:
- Modelling clay (wax based, non-hardening): http://amzn.to/2qOI40v
The above clay, like the one I used, is oil-based and it never hardens. If you would rather have your sculpture to harden, you may prefer to use something like the following:
Modelling clay (self-hardening): http://amzn.to/2rutcoQ
Clay sculpting and pottery set: http://amzn.to/2q4LxZo
-Flat palette knife: https://amzn.to/2Jv74Ev
Wooden cutting boards (this is totally optional): http://amzn.to/2ruZjob
Heavy duty rotating base (optional but very handy): http://amzn.to/2qb6UUV
Color shaper round tip n.2 (the ones with the light gray tip, like this one, are the right ones for clay. The white ones are too soft and the dark ones too hard): https://amzn.to/2y0Kw9f
