Learning how to paint butterflies

If you guys didnt know yet, @deemarshall is having a butterfly art contest with awesome sbd awards, (here)[https://steemit.com/butterflyart/@deemarshall/new-fun-contest-create-some-butterfly-art-and-win-sbd] I wanted to enter but but I did not know how to paint a butterfly. I draw with oencils most of the tine, but I wanted my butterfly to be colourful and yet I just end up creating a weird looking one.

So I decided to learn gow to paint butterflies, the easiest way for me to learn was to look at how people draw them and tried doing it too, by doing so I often discover very useful tricks. I googled buttlerfly painting and goes for the ones I like.

Here are the outcomes

I have to say that I personally like this except for the butterfly on the top right, this is my second try, using the picture below as guideline.

I honestly learned a lot and I had so much fun doing this.
