It's fun to watch the work in progress. You're doing a great job!

Thank you so much! That means a lot. An upvote would be appreciated too.

Yes, I already voted three hours ago. Sorry, it isn't much. I'm experimenting with an auto-voter and it is quickly draining my account. I'll probably have to switch it off soon. Your account is one of the fifty I chose to select using the auto-voter.

Thanks. There must have been a delay in the vote registering because your ID wasn’t in the list of voters. I always go to the list and try to vote for posts on those folks blogs before I check the feeds.

The auto-voter sent you this at 10:42 AM:

I commented hours later:

Your comments to me prompted me to turn the auto-voter off. If anyone expects to get rich from my upvotes, I'm afraid they will be disappointed. Now instead of trying to spread my votes to 50 different accounts (the maximum), I will go back to handing out ten 100% upvotes daily.

We were talking about a $0.01 vote here in the best case - that's what my 100% vote is worth! Have a great weekend @momzillanc

That’s probably the best way to handle it. It also seems to me that it would promote quality content more because auto-voting cannot really gauge the value of the content to the voter. I always start by voting on blogs who’ve voted on my most recent content. Then I check the feeds for new content that interests me. I don’t think I get in the full 50 votes every single day, but I do vote at least 25 to 30 times, with comments on around 2/3 of those pages. Lots of creative writing and art/photography posts because that’s what draws my attention.

I find real engagement and realtime voting of more value personally.

You should understand something about voting on comments. Don't do it unless your vote is worth $0.02 minimum. Any post or comment with less than 0.02 on it is rounded down to zero. This is known as the "dust off".

I don't vote on comments EVER because I would just be throwing away my voting power. A 100% upvote costs you 2 hours and forty minutes to regenerate. I appreciate that you've voted on my comments I believe three times today. Thank you. But you've wasted those votes as they will be "dusted off" and the value of them is returned to the rewards pool.

This is NOT about me wanting something from those votes, it's about you now having spent something like eight hours of your time, basically for nothing.

Most posts will have more than $0.02 on them already, so adding a fraction more is NOT wasted. Those votes will add up... but on comments? No. (Unless someone else comes along and tops up that vote to the point where it reaches 0.02)

You can look into services provided by @dustbunny or @dustsweeper who help "top up" votes. This can help both the voter and the recipient.

I don't use either of those services, although I did make a very small delegation to @dustbunny the other day. My solution is to vote ONLY on posts. If and when my vote goes above $0.02 I will very happily begin to vote on comments. Until then, I only vote on posts.

I hope this info will help you a little @momzillanc. I do appreciate your votes, that's all good, but you are far better to save them for POSTS only.

I do understand the vote tallying on comments and that they have little to no monetary value. I choose to continue doing so because it helps me keep track. I upvote the replies so I know and the commenter knows that I’ve read them. If I left them without a vote, I’d quickly lose track; in fact, I don’t respond to many of the comments except for that tracking vote. Except for the recent reboot, I haven’t had any problems keeping up with the regeneration period.

If the system added a check box or something to tick off when we’ve seen replies, I’d change. Until then, I can think of no more efficient way to track them. And, my comment upvotes never amount to more than 10 of my total votes per day – a minimal loss, in my estimation, for the convenience.

As I said before, I read a lot of creative writing posts, so I cannot fit in the full 50 votes. I won’t vote on a blog I haven’t read and valued.
