"You can call me May Be"
There are many forms of digital art, but especially the visual digital arts have suffered criticism for the lack of materiality. The lack of real texture, the lack of painterly smells, the feel of the pigments.
But we should be willing to drop these old ways and look ahead to the avenues that have opened up to us...may be there will be some happy encounters.
THE BETTER YOU LOOK THE MORE YOU SEE
I totally agree, an artist is not refined by the tools they use, and a good artist will always produce good work as long as he or she uses the tools they're familiar with. And vice versa, there's a lot of crappy art out there on the full spectrum of the toolbox.
I can only imagine that one of the most celebrated artists and innovators of all times, Leonardo da Vinci, would have embraced the digital technology with it's infinite possibilities.
