Regarded as one of the most prominent spectacles in all the world, the Royal Ascot is a world renown flat race meeting for International Thoroughbreds of all ages. The world’s finest racehorses to compete for more than £7.3m in prize money. The Royal Ascot is also known for ubiquitous style and fashion with an ever prominent dress code that must be followed. Socks are a requirement for gentlemen, as well as a suit with jacket and trousers of the same color and pattern with a dress shirt and tie. If you're in the Royal Enclosure, color is not allowed, suits of grey or black and a top hat are is allowed.
Women have strict rules to follow for the Royal Ascot attendance as well, dresses and skirts must be knee-length. All straps whether tops or dresses must be at least one inch thick. Jumpsuits are allowed as of 2018, yet always have straps. Halter neck, spaghetti straps, or strapless/ one-shoulder tops are not allowed at Ascot. Hats are more prevalent than fascinators. Actually, this year, they prohibited fascinators less than a brim of 4 inches. We recommend going with a 'Hatinator' by Christine A. Moore just to be safe!
