I haven't heard of any Steemit services selling info yet.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

    Steemit/Busy.org and other Steem apps already have lots of tracking scripts following users so it should not be a surprise that info will leaked to Facebook and others.
