Assisted Suicide
This is an extremely tough subject for a lot of people; it has been frowned upon by the majority of people forever. There was even the publicized case of Dr. Kevorkian that took place through out the 90's, where he openly admitted to assisting in the deaths of at least 130 people. He ended up being jailed for eight years of 10-25 year sentence.
Despite all of the past ruckus that has been made, California passed a law in June of 2016, that allows terminally ill people to decide for themselves, and have the ability to end their own suffering; if they feel the need too.
Terms and Conditions
- You have to have a sound mind.
- Judged to have six months or less to live.
- It has to be a participating facility.
- Have enough money to afford the treatment.(It costs $3,400 for each dose.)
- You have to ask for it twice with-in a 15 day span.

With that being said, it isn't like ANYONE can just go ahead, and decide to end their life. You have to go through a bunch of signed consents, rules, and regulations. During the first year a total of 504 people met their end; with this prescribed end-of-life option. I'm sure each case came along with tons of sadness and grief, with the end result of families being at ease. I personally have worked in an ICU, and got to witness a lot of this first hand. Its never an easy process.
