I remember the days when the Associated Press was a genuine news agency. Now it seems much more like a propaganda outlet for certain political views. Consider this article on immigration. People who support enforcement of America's immigration laws by ICE are referred to in the article as "Immigration opponents." That's a false characterization -- demonstrably false.
The story contains several photos of Flavio Andrade Prado, a Brazilian national, his American wife, and their two kids, but we're never given any information at all as to why Prado was "detained." We don't know what he said or what he did. We don't know how he entered the country or his immigration status. We just know that he has been held in custody "since before the pandemic." This is pull-at-your-heart-strings journalism without the benefit of facts or context.
Shame on the Associated Press.
