What is feast of Assumption?
This is a Christian festival celebrated every year on 15th of August in most Christian dominated country,like Italy,united state, part of Nigeria, Argentina and others.they decorate their churches specially, because we believed that virgin Mary having completed the course of her earthly life was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory.
Symbolic things associated with this event.
- many believed that colour blue is associated with virgin Mary,as it is the colour of heaven and also portrays truth and clarity.
- Christians,expecially Catholic associates Lilly with Mary because is the symbol of purity divinity and simplicity.
Other names for the feast
In Brazil the feast is called our lady of "Navigator".very very popular event of Christians in Brazil .
In France is also considered as a monumental holidays.
The feast of assumption is a sign of love and harmony and is respected as a sacred festival.
Advice
A devoted Christian on this day ,need to show love to people who are depressed and make them to be happy .
