Astral Projection
Astral projection (or astral travel) is a term used in esotericism to describe a willful out-of-body experience (OBE), astral projection can take place whether you are sleeping or awake. It happens when our spiritual body temporarily leaves our physical body on Earth to different dimensions of astral realms while staying connected to silver cord. The silver cord that anchor's ones astral body to their physical body makes it possible to return back to our earthly self. As it allows us to find our way back to the physical realm.

The silver cord is very strong, almost indestructible, yet soft and elastic that can stretch and flex to make sure that the astral body is truly tethered to the physical one.

Every night we travels within the astral planes. The majority of you are doing this every night without knowing it. At night when we are asleep the majority of individuals unconsciously leave their actual physical body and travel throughout the night to far-off places within the many astral planes or this 3rd dimensional plane. As the majority of people are unaware of this very natural process, religious beliefs or otherwise, we immediately wake up and think it's all just been a dream or nightmare depending on your night's travels

Astral projection exercise
Start by selecting a peaceful place and time of the day where you will not be disturbed. Although this exercise can be done in a chair, it is best to lie on your back on a firm, but not hard, surface. Next, stretch out and loosen your clothing. Relax. Follow your breath, fixing your consciousness totally on the breathing process.

Make a conscious effort to get completely limp. Begin with your feet and, working upwards, relax all of the muscles, in your body. This should take about four or five minutes.

While in the relaxed state, visualise your inner self becoming light and lifting free of the physical body. Imagine yourself floating directly above the body as though you were on a cloud of air. Allow yourself to experience this feeling for about 5 minutes and then slowly lower yourself (your astral self) back into your body. Do this exercise several times until you feel comfortable floating and then continue with the next step.

Once you are free of the body walk into another room. Go slowly and take time to examine everything in the room. Take note of pictures, how furniture is arranged, and where objects of interest are. Do this exercise several times, and then have someone rearrange the room just prior to your journey. After you have reached to your body, write down exactly what you saw and where everything was positioned. Return to the room and check on your accuracy. The results will then indicate if you really did astral projection or not.

The Rope Technique for Astral Projection

There are many different techniques you can use to experience astral projection. The rope technique is one of the easiest and most effective ones used by hundreds of practitioners worldwide. Robert Bruce first introduced this technique to the world. The rope technique is one of the most commonly used astral projection techniques because it is so easy for even beginners to master and carry through.

First Steps for Astral Projection using the Rope Technique

First, you have to start with a clear mind. Consciously relax yourself to have full control over the proceedings. This will help you leave your physical body at will and come back to it as and when you desire. Many beginners fail to succeed with astral projection techniques simply because they fear the unusual/unknown experience of separating from the physical self. By telling yourself that you are in complete control, you can keep such fears at bay.

Moving into Deep Trance State

Once you are entirely relaxed, you have to consciously switch your mind into deep trance state where such Out of Body Experiences (OBEs) are possible. In this state, you start visualizing a rope that is tied right above you, reaching down to you. ‘See’ yourself holding on to this rope and pulling yourself up. This visualization brings about a movement of your ethereal body away from the physical one and into the astral plane.

Moving into the Astral Plane

As you continue to pull yourself up using the imaginary rope, you may find yourself getting dizzy and also experience an increase in pressure. These are indications that your ethereal body is pulling away from your physical self. Do not be distracted by sounds (such as a buzzing noise) or sensations. Simply focus on the task of pulling away from your body.

When your astral body begins to move away you feel vibrations. Concentrate on these vibrations and experience them in every part of your body. Do not allow the shift in sensation to break your concentration. Beyond this experience of vibration lies the complete separation of your astral body from the real world.

When you wish to return to your physical body, simply visualize yourself gently floating back to it. With practice and patience you can master this easiest of astral projection techniques and use it to travel the world and beyond.

Astral Projection Warnings

Only astral project when you are in a stable mood (if you are clouded by negative thoughts and feelings, you will attract negative entities).

Do not astral project if you are on drugs - this will take you to a lower plane of disorientation and will be less vibrant.

Just in case, ask your guides to protect you (as there can be malevolent beings).

Ideally, only do it if you believe it will be spiritually benefiting (it is not a necessary part of spirituality) rather than a source of entertainment.

If you do it incorrectly, it could lead to sleep paralysis.

You cannot get possessed by malevolent entities, but they can get attached to you.

Always surround yourself with nurturing and higher vibrational energy, and avoid beings with darker/clouded auras as they tend to be less benevolent (but not always - it is just a precaution if you are new to astral projection).

Avoid fear - do not worry that you can die while astrally projecting (as you will not), if your astral body senses danger it will immediately return to your physical body.

Yes, it's absolutely true. I have experieced OBE's so many times. It's a great adventures, breath taking experiece. That can change whole paradigm, and expand your conciosness to new realities of this unknown Universe.
