Fire and Earth vibrate at very different levels of energy and opposite in its subtlety. But this difference in their forms of expression does not reduce the importance of one over the other, because "Everything in the universe is a manifestation of energy" (Law of, TAO). Fire symbolizes the creative energy, activating element is an alchemist principle.

The earth element is only and only the ultimate form of expression of creative energy, its manifestation in denser element, where it derives its condensation and materialization. Fire, being the origin of all, consciousness is the energy that is never lost, just changes form, because it is this creative principle of excellence. Therefore, from time to time, forms die so that more subtle and creative expression levels may arise ... in new ways. As with the release of our soul upon the death of our physical body and return to Spirit (Fire). And this resembles the Renaissance process represented by Phoenix. The fire that consumes the "body" (the form), which turns into ashes then reborn in a new form of life.

When we fail to establish a balanced relationship between these two levels, we can get too attached to the forms and limited to expressions on the physical plane, and that manifests itself usually by fear of loss or fear of death (the earth element), creating resistance to this transmutation process. Or, too unrealistic with an energy dispersion without holding capacity. When our relationship with these two principles takes place in an unbalanced way, one switches from opposite to the other extreme way, sometimes too contained, sometimes too fiery, hard to introduce progressive changes in our "ways" of life.

And if we go back to the astrological analysis, this was certainly a month with strong quadrature between Virgo (Earth) and Sagittarius (Fire), but with the difference that, at the time of the beginning of "Hell on Earth" were the fires, Mars already passed through this last fire sign (entrance on 2 August) and, as mentioned, they abounded the energies in these two elements. As Scorpio's ruler, Mars is the principle that activates the process of destruction of forms, while Pluto (co-ruler of Scorpio) takes the regeneration function necessary for the process of rebirth. When we live these energies from the Heart in Love, these are true academical processes that allow a huge release of energy and that catapults the individual to more refined levels of consciousness.

When we live these energies from the solar plexus or our lower nature, both the energies of Mars and Pluto, become destructive and often expressed through cyclical crises experienced by humanity. Then we have the burning fire instead of the fire that quickens. Both release energy, however, the first propagates in an uncontrolled manner, only the second consuming impurities in order to eliminate them, and to purify the substance. To transit through Sagittarius, a Fire sign, active Mars this process through this element, and that symbolically we can associate with the physical fire (extremely expansive and difficulties to be limited).

Neptune in Pisces in difficult aspect with the planets transiting these two signs (Virgo and Sagittarius) adds chaos, despair and confusion, being very difficult to define limits to this igneous expression and achieve a timely and organized action. This chaos and confusion these neptunium represent the emotions, the water element, which are deposited all the desires of our personality and the collective, the more and the less refined.

It is these desires and emotions that feed our "Fire" (our will), and that is that gives life and creates or that firing and destroys. No doubt that this was a month during which the fire tilled the earth, and only propose to review these events to them can take some added value through its astrological interpretation, not only consider misfortunes of a hot summer and a result of few preventive measures. Re-doing something always lets dig a little deeper what initially had been done allows us to go back to not move forward on the same error or failure.For all the potential that is always implicit in astrology (and by that I mean the use of its symbolism to understand the experiences that life brings to us) I must remember that more than we think of ways to escape the inconvenience arising from this Retrograde motion (because it is an illusion), is to think in their potential for any "evil" from becoming "good."
