The Week In Preview: General Astrology Forecast For February 7-14

Hello, readers, and welcome back to another installment of The Week In Preview.

This time last week saw a lot of us emotionally on edge from the powerful energy of the Supermoon Lunar Eclipse of the 31st. As of this week, the energy is at a sustained dull roar as we exist between last week's eclipse and next week's partial Solar Eclipse at 27 degrees Aquarius - almost exactly opposite the degree of last August's Great American Eclipse. All of the intensity that took place in August - from whatever was happening in our personal lives to what was happening in the news - should be expected to return in mid-February. More on that next week.

This week brings us a relatively easy set of aspects and transits, starting with Venus' ingress into Pisces on the 10th, and Pisces is a fine place for Venus to be, as she will be in her exaltation. This of course means that Venus' expressions come easier and better than average in this sign.

What does that mean for us? Love takes on Piscean qualities - deep, emotional, compassionate and caring. We're more sensitive to each other's feelings, and more able to bring our compassionate side to the surface. Love feels more unconditional as well with Venus in Pisces.

Of course, many of us are unattached, and if this is you, you'll still reap the benefits. This will be a marvelous time for creative projects, particularly in the visual arts. Making things beautiful will seem easier with Venus in Pisces. Not the creative type? Whether it's film, painting, or any of the arts, you'll be able to enjoy whatever you decide to take in.

The Sun and Jupiter form a square on the same day under a Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius Moon, something that I call a 'feel-good' aspect, despite the square. Now, how do we get through this without feeling the 'square' part? Well, all we have to do is ride the wave of confidence that some of us will be feeling without letting our egos get out of control (people with planets or points around 20-24 degrees of fixed signs, I'm looking in your direction).

We can easily let ego get out of control here. The trick is to remember that inappropriate displays of ego will kick you in the behind, especially as the Moon enters bubble-bursting Capricorn later that day. Just keep the confidence on realistic levels and we'll be fine.

Moving along to the 13th, when we'll see Mercury speeding through Aquarius into a fixed square with Jupiter in Scorpio. We'll have to be careful here, as those of us who this will affect directly (see: Sun square Jupiter above) will have the urge to talk...and talk...and talk. The possibilities here are endless: Giving TMI on social media, making grandiose promises, inserting foot into mouth over and over again... it is certainly wise to let the thoughts flow through first, and doing a little self-editing before saying what we're going to say.

Of course, the Sun and Uranus are forming a sextile on the same day, increasing our chances of just blurting something out. However, a nice way to use this energy is simply to show a new side of yourself today. Let your freak flag fly!

Or, try something new on the menu, or take a slight detour in your travels (given time and safety, of course, says my natal Moon-Saturn conjunction).
