The Full Moon arrived Thursday evening (5:51 PM MT -- March 1), and for some reason its effects this year are especially powerful for me. Maybe for you, too. The Full Moon here, of course, is the Moon in Virgo opposing the Sun in Pisces. To an astrologer, it looks like what you see in the chart below. Once again, it certainly illustrates a relationship that spells "opposition" by any standard.
In any Full Moon arrangement, the heart, mind and emotions represented by the Moon in Astrology are in conflict with the ambitions, willpower and self-identity represented by the Sun. You're moving in new directions. You have redefined yourself in some important ways.
You may even be excited about new vistas and new opportunities. But the pull of history, habits, familiar routines and other things that bring feelings of safety and inner comfort (more Moon issues), tug at you with a not-so-fast message that can translate into anything from annoyance to anxiety.

When the Full Moon arrives, you feel torn between two conflicting sets of priorities, two strong needs and desires. Life asks you to find some balance, a workable compromise -- but neither side of you, neither of these two strong inner selves is in a negotiating mood.
There's a built-in winner-take-all attitude that comes with every Full Moon. And until one side of the argument sees the advantage of at least listening to the other side's point and agenda, losing ground is not an option. Every push, every pull, every attempt to wiggle and find a little "breathing room" meets resistance. No wonder Full Moon energy is notorious for making people a little bit nuts.

The Full Moon in Virgo opposing the Sun in Pisces brings onstage the dilemma between service and solitude, the conflict between the desire to help through the work you offer ... and the need to heal yourself by getting enough leisure and sleep (!!), giving yourself some down-time, and enjoying some peace and quiet by yourself for a while.
It depicts your need to balance the amount of work you do for the benefit of others with your own requirements for rest and recuperation.

The Moon in Virgo is rational, focused, practical, objective, and very involved with the concept of "making life easier for others." It is emotionally centered on doing work, being of service, and sharing your talents and skills in order to improve the lives of those around you. The Pisces Sun, however, is reclusive, subdued, private, self-sacrificing, and just wants to be left alone!!
The conflict between all you have to do, all the jobs you have to deal with, all the hats you have to wear ... and your desperate need for some solitude to just get your bearings again will become obvious over the next couple of weeks. This is a high-strung, jittery, stressful energy between two signs that don't deal well with that kind of tension,
Virgo tends to generate physical symptoms in response to stress, while Pisces is notorious for "collapsing" under the strain of overwhelming demands. You are liable to discover that you've committed your resources to the absolute limits of your endurance -- and may have, in the proverbial way, bitten off more than you can chew.

If you've always known there was more to Astrology than Sun Sign material and the three line daily horoscope in the newspaper, climb aboard and follow this blog. You'll find a world of wisdom detailing how you were designed to work with life ... and why you are the way you are -- all in quick-to-read, easy-to-digest-and-remember, written-in-plain-English essays that offer plenty of food for thought.
Little by little, I'm doing a set of articles that talks about all the elements in your horoscope and what they have to say about you. If you "know something" about Astrology -- or know something about your chart placements, that will help you get more from this material.
If you don't ... well, this is one place you can learn. We all have to start somewhere ... because we aren't born knowing this stuff. Meanwhile, if you've never seen your horoscope ... and don't have a clue how to work with it, maybe it's time to find out. There are lots of "chart services" on the internet -- some of whom produce decent, readable charts "for free" and some are so awful and confusing that even I can't read them easily -- and I've worked with charts for decades.
One extremely user-friendly chart site is here: AstroLabe. I recommend them if you want a simple, easy-to-read chart. I think they even give a reasonable little interpretive reading of your horoscope as part of the package. You'll need to know your birth information -- day, month, year, time and geographical place. Without all that your chart will have limited accuracy.
Or, if you want to get serious and really talk about this, upvote this post and start a conversation in the comments section sometime in the next six days from the time of publication. We'll go from there depending on what you want to know.

Questions about any of this? -- Upvote this post and talk to me in comments. It's a terrific way to build value for yourself and the community ... and it will give me ideas of what to write about in future posts. Believe me there is lots to say about the way The Sun, The Moon -- and all the other elements in a horoscope, all the other components of Astrology -- work together to interpret you and your story -- and what it all means to the person you've become.

Although sometimes the background pictures in our visual essays support the topic and text, they don't always. Sometimes the connection is clear. Sometimes it's symbolic and subtle. Sometimes, there's no connection at all.
The scenes depict landscapes and natural features, buildings and wildlife. They were chosen because they show something lovely or interesting ... or simply because the photo appealed to me.
Our spectacular and remarkable planet is changing at astonishing speed. Rarely are these changes for the better. Few people seem to know ... or care ... or have the will and power to do anything about this. It may not be long before the world humans have known and lived in for centuries is forever lost. We certainly won't be able to make repairs as fast as we destroyed it.
So a few years ago I began collecting pictures of the way things were ... and still are for now, a record of the beauty we have while it is still ours to love and honor.
The photos here are part of that collection, with sincere thanks to the artists who saw these moments ... and with their cameras ... preserved them. All of us at Enchanted Spirit are profoundly grateful to them for their generosity and skill ... and for the added grace, depth and dimension their art brings to ours.

Very interesting and great photo. We love to track the moon as it rises over the ridge across from us. It's great to get some more info.

My late mom was great in astrology. We use the vedic or the lunar charts in India

Lovely post. In my case, the full moon increases my Lyme disease symptoms. It might sound strange but there is a link between the phases of the moon and the way I feel. Each time a full moon occurs, my symptoms become exacerbated.

I've never really took much notice in the powers the Moon and Sun bring us since I've always looked at the astrology signs, horoscopes and such as nonsense.
I think it's when I researched into the Egyptian practices that I started to feel like there was something I was missing. I'm going to give you a follow for a bit and see if it's up my street, this really peaked my interests so I guess there is no harm in expanding my knowledge on it!
Thanks for the shove.

Oh, you just described my last couple of days. It's been tough but somehow I made it trough. Since Virgo is my Sun sign, when a Moon enters Virgo it is always unique and fun for me :D

The full moon can mean so much to so many different people, I never really understood astrology but still appreciate it.
