As the New Moon cycle moves into Virgo, the buoyant, creative energy of Leo's New Moon formally ends for another year. Leo energy is playful. It's dramatic and self-promoting. Virgo energy is ... different. Leo energy invites you to seek the spotlight, develop your skills and gifts ... and attract attention. You want to satisfy some ego needs and reconnect to your Inner Kid.
But when the New Moon in Virgo arrives, the emphasis changes. Now it's time to put your talents to work, settle into an occupation and generally make yourself useful. Having mapped out some new creative projects, you now must focus on how to make them practical ... and profitable ... and useful. They need to be good for something -- not just art-for-art's-sake.

A Virgo would say that it needs to pay for its space. It needs to give a return on investment. It needs to give back -- and otherwise justify its existence. Virgo can be pretty hard-nosed about the virtue of work -- and insist on down-to-earth goals and constructive contributions.
How can your plans and creations benefit others? To arrange that, you need to settle into a daily routine, put your shoulder to the wheel and do something productive. Virgo energy is primed and ready for that.
In Astrology, each succeeding sign is a reaction away from the highlights and excesses of the one that came before. So if Leo is flamboyant and dashing, Virgo is humble and demure. Leo is proud; Virgo is modest. It's quite a change, I admit. But it has purpose. After all the grandstanding in Leo, this quiet, moderate time can be welcome.

Virgo believes in work -- even considers it a requirement for a worthwhile, fulfilling life. Virgos want to be useful. They want to accomplish things. They run on schedules. They keep To-Do Lists right at hand. You can pretty well see the inborn inferiority complex that drives them, their choices and actions. The question of why hasn't got a good answer. It's just the way they are.
Virgos offer service to others so their lives will count for something. They need to contribute to the orderly conduct of life. So they streamline everything they can by doing the routine, mundane, everyday chores and meeting the ordinary commitments that make life run smoothly.
They ask for nothing but a little quiet appreciation in return, a kind word of thanks, or just the simple knowledge that they have helped make someone else's path easier.

Virgo energy is remarkably selfless in its methods and tactics, quietly but insistently offering to do whatever needs doing. Virgo gathers up all the self-sacrificing efforts of Pisces -- its polar opposite -- and puts it into physical, practical employment. Without them to grease the wheels, the cogs of life wouldn't mesh nearly so nicely.
Obviously focusing on work, as in the job you do for money, is one thing, and Virgos excel in this. They can be workaholics without equal in their drive to turn in a "job well done." But they are also famous for taking on work wherever they find it ... as in "energy spent primarily for the benefit of someone else."
This means a willingness to take on chores, favors, errands, assignments, duties, tasks, commitments and responsibilities that can keep them in virtual overload on behalf of others if they aren't careful.

Virgos are fabulous people to know -- and to have around -- when you need to take on a bunch of unglamorous, distasteful little "jobs" in your life ... from filling out your tax forms, to ironing your shirts, to helping you clean out that god-awful garage.
The Virgos will be there, ready, willing, and able to help. In fact, they may insist on doing it all. You get an awful lot of stuff done when Virgo energy is available ... and are delighted with the tidiness that results.
Virgo energy is meticulous, efficient, perfectionistic, and focused. It does things carefully; it pays attention to details; it ties up all those messy loose ends that other signs are content just to let dangle. Virgo energy is analytical, logical, organized, discriminating and critical.
It catalogs, organizes, concentrates and can always find more to do. It is neat, and fastidious, and loves bringing order out of chaos. It is also patient, unemotional and shy ... convinced, as it seems to be, that no matter how stellar the performance it turns in ... enough is never enough.
If you've always known there was more to Astrology than Sun Sign material and the three line daily horoscope in the newspaper, climb aboard and follow this blog. You'll find a world of wisdom detailing how you were designed to work with life ... and why you are the way you are -- all in quick-to-read, easy-to-digest-and-remember, written-in-plain-English essays that offer plenty of food for thought.
Little by little, I'm doing a set of articles that talks about all the elements in your horoscope and what they have to say about you. If you "know something" about Astrology -- or know something about your chart placements, that will help you get more from this material.
If you don't ... well, this is one place you can learn. We all have to start somewhere ... because we aren't born knowing this stuff. Meanwhile, if you've never seen your horoscope ... and don't have a clue how to work with it, maybe it's time to find out. There are lots of "chart services" on the internet -- some of whom produce decent, readable charts "for free" and some are so awful and confusing that even I can't read them easily -- and I've worked with charts for decades.
One extremely user-friendly chart site is here: AstroLabe. I recommend them if you want a simple, easy-to-read chart. I think they even give a reasonable little interpretive reading of your horoscope as part of the package. You'll need to know your birth information -- day, month, year, time and geographical place. Without all that your chart will have limited accuracy.
Or, if you want to get serious and really talk about this, upvote this post and start a conversation in the comments section sometime in the next six days from the time of publication. We'll go from there depending on what you want to know.
Questions about any of this? -- Upvote this post and talk to me in comments. It's a terrific way to build value for yourself and the community ... and it will give me ideas of what to write about in future posts. Believe me there is lots to say about the way The Sun, The Moon -- and all the other elements in a horoscope, all the other components of Astrology -- work together to interpret you and your story -- and what it all means to the person you've become.
Although sometimes the background pictures in our visual essays support the topic and text, they don't always. Sometimes the connection is clear. Sometimes it's symbolic and subtle. Sometimes, there's no connection at all.
The scenes depict landscapes and natural features, buildings and wildlife. They were chosen because they show something lovely or interesting ... or simply because the photo appealed to me.
Our spectacular and remarkable planet is changing at astonishing speed. Rarely are these changes for the better. Few people seem to know ... or care ... or have the will and power to do anything about this. It may not be long before the world humans have known and lived in for centuries is forever lost. We certainly won't be able to make repairs as fast as we destroyed it.
So a few years ago I began collecting pictures of the way things were ... and still are for now, a record of the beauty we have while it is still ours to love and honor.
The photos here are part of that collection, with sincere thanks to the artists who saw these moments ... and with their cameras ... preserved them. All of us at Enchanted Spirit are profoundly grateful to them for their generosity and skill ... and for the added grace, depth and dimension their art brings to ours.

Nice post. You already upvote me so I don't have to do the rest of the beg.
It really is a nice post. I love the detail and explanation that you put into the process.
But Grandstanding from a Leo? Honestly? How can you say that about my humble self?
Maybe just a little once in a while :)
