New Year's Reinvention!

Change means reinvention. We're all keen on it, especially at the beginning of a new year! We list resolutions, eager to release old habits, implement new goals and begin life-enhancing activities. We celebrate the opportunity for renewal, a fresh start, another chance to further our dreams and perfect our purpose! But all too often we lose track of our plans and forget our declarations before the end of January. To implement the daily advancement we want to manifest, we must keep our dreams in motion!

We are all constantly changing, evolving, adjusting, shifting - like the world around us. We're not who we were a year ago, nor will we be the same a year from now. So to make the changes we want, we really only need to consciously start moving ourselves in the direction we want to go. Make it a habit each day to envision what you want to invent for yourself in 2018! In the process, show self-compassion – when embarking on a new habit or routine, be kind and supportive to yourself! Cheer on your progress – no matter how big or small. Correct what doesn't work, highlight what does and keep advancing forward – one day at a time - walking confidently into the future that you've created!

January is the month we can reinvent who we are by taking a different course of action, by seeing ourselves in a new light and adjusting our attitudes for greater fulfillment. Take advantage of this first month of 2018 as it sets the standard for the year ahead! Astrologically, we are now given the support to take control of the areas that challenged us in 2017 and forge ahead with greater self assurance, determination and productivity! • 11 January (10th in U.S.A.): Mercury enters Capricorn – Set Your Compass! Our future dreams and goals are supported now with the energy of ambitious reflection, serious intention and conscious contemplation. We have more discipline, determination and mindful direction to set a course of action for greater future advancement. The ability to be more practical, pragmatic and perceptive in our plans helps us to make the changes we need to get ahead. This is a great time for considering ways to improve and empower ourselves for future success. As we move into 2018 our views and vision become more goal oriented, with a get-real, get-going, get-it-done mindset!

• 17 January (16th in U.S.A.): New Moon in Capricorn – Emotional Evolvement! This first New Moon of the year assists us in strengthening the foundations of our lives by cutting out the time robbers and the money wasters. This is an ideal time to sort your stuff, get organized, set your goals and empower yourself by taking charge of your emotional needs. This is also the time to map out strategies for strengthening your security issues while getting details sorted on personal/professional goals. We are encouraged now to get real with our plans, move forward with our visions while cultivating greater patience, fortitude and deliberate action. This officially marks a time of new beginnings, advancement and the planting of the seeds for a better future harvest! Set your intentions now for what you want to build for your year ahead!

• 18 January (17th in U.S.A.): Venus enters Aquarius – Igniting Love's Light! The Goddess of Love planet makes up for its recent sober stint in Capricorn by shimmying into advant-guard Aquarius! We now explore and embrace new affectionate energy, artistic self expression, innovative thought and inventive communication. Our social circle expands, opening up the opportunity for unique and exciting connections and participation in the group dynamic. Our need to share and appreciate love, artistry and future-oriented thought is emphasized. Use this energy to free your feelings, inspire your vision and attract to you unique and wondrous opportunities

• 20 January (19th in U.S.A.): Sun enters Aquarius – Transcend the Norm!
  This begins a new cycle of much mental stimulation, liberation and new awareness. We are encouraged to express ourselves uniquely, to honour our individuality, and to embrace innovative concepts. True liberty grows out of freedom of thought, and our communications and connections with others bring greater understanding and alignment with the Universe. We are able to reach out with more humanitarian energy now, with the true awareness that we are all One!

• 27 January (26th in the U.S.A.): Mars enters Sagittarius – Advance your Adventures! What brings you pleasure? Look at your daily doings and figure out what encourages smiles and what stresses you out! This new cycle of activation brings greater ability to advance our endeavours, especially when it comes to finding greater joy and letting go of whatever holds us back. We can embrace our unfettered spirits now, looking to the future with more confidence, inspiration and inner certainty. We have the green light to move forward, recognizing what we want to optimize our growth, with an eye to ascending the path ahead! Where can you use more possibility thinking and energized action in your life?

• The Outer Planets stay in a sign for a longer period of time, so their effect on us is more gradual, but significant none the less. Here they are in their current positions:

• Jupiter is in Scorpio all month: As the planet representing expansion and opportunity moves into the Mars-ruled sign of Scorpio, we start a new cycle of intensity, passion and transformation. We'll now experience greater determination to achieve our desires, heightened passion in pursuing our goals, and deeper intensity in expressing our feelings. Jupiter magnifies whatever sign it is in, and in the water sign of Scorpio, our sensitivities will be emphasized, offering us a chance to grow emotionally and intuitively. Additionally, metaphysical concerns, healing energy, mysticism and desire to bring to light the truth in all matters will also be highlighted. There will be greater concern for the deeper issues of life as we seek the answers to universal understanding. This is a time when we are being urged to focus on our similarities rather than differences in order to create a more peaceful future. Jupiter will be in Scorpio until 9 November 2018.

• Saturn is in Capricorn - Saturn, the “serious” planet ruling responsibility, maturity, hard work, achievement and conservation now moves into it’s ruling sign Capricorn, where it feels most at home. Saturn cycles are very important – they usually last for about 29 years and teach us about caution, moderation, building secure foundations in our lives and looking at life with sober, thoughtful and wiser eyes. This new cycle of Saturn/Capricorn will last until March 2020 – the time prior was Nov 1988 to Feb 1991. We now enter an important era where our energies will be focused on practicality, efficiency, realism, creating and restoring order, rebuilding the faulty structures of our lives and conserving our resources. Rewards come to those who put in the efforts that merit achievements – and to those who show thoughtful concern, patience and perseverance in their undertakings. Saturn is a teacher – showing us how we can grow through past mistakes, failures and hardships by using the knowledge that we gain from these experiences to acquire greater wisdom, self awareness, patience and finally, advancement. Expect big changes to our lives and the world as Saturn in Capricorn focuses on righting the wrongs around us, ushering in a new era of ethical concerns and rewarding sincerity, integrity and authenticity. This can be the time when your hard work, efforts and dreams finally pay off!

• Uranus is in Aries - As the planet of Innovation continues it's cycle through the assertive, aggressive and independent sign of Aries, we are encouraged to reflect on what we need for greater freedom in our lives. By embracing unique forms of self expression, liberation from oppression, new technology and inventive pioneering action we find new insights and advancement in our lives and world! Strength, assertive action, inspirational vision, intuitive understanding, advanced technology and new innovation is forthcoming, helping us to open up to new dimensions. Uranus will be in Aries until 7 March 2019.

• Neptune is in Pisces - While the planet ruling dreams and creativity continues slowly moving through its ruling sign of Pisces, we are encouraged to honor more of our spiritual awareness, artistic inspiration and intuitive insight! Greater appreciation for the beautify around us as well as within us is highlighted. We-are-all-one compassion is emphasized along with further need for humanitarian expression. Readdressing ways to embrace greater sympathy and empathy along with universal understanding is highlighted. Neptune will be in Pisces until 31 March 2025.

• Pluto is in Capricorn - As the planet of Transformation continues its long journey through this sober sign, we get serious about making positive changes to ourselves and our world. The overall theme of this cycle is uncovering the misuse of power and authority to enable change for the better. It represents a major time of rediscovery, review and reconsideration that brings transformation to our society, government, world order and Mother Earth. It also pushes to think about the changes we want to make to our belief structures and our power as individuals and as a whole. This pairing will continue until 24 March 2023.

• Chiron is in Pisces - As the “wounded healer” moves through the sign of sensitivity, compassion and understanding, we have the ability to open our hearts to others while working to heal ourselves. Greater spiritual awareness, empathy and intuition can be gained during this time but it's important not to loose ourselves in the effort to assist others. Keeping personal boundaries in place is key for self care too. Chiron will be in Pisces until April 2018.
