This project was developed by the whole team of young engineers and enthusiasts from the Moscow polytechnical university, and an object had to become "the brightest star" in the sky. The spacecraft quite small, of the size of a ball for rugby which after start and a conclusion to an orbit according to the plan had to open the reflector in the form of a pyramid made of the metallized film 5 micrometers thick. The area of completely deployed light reflector is 16 sq.m at the expense of what creators of the satellite planned that "Beacon" will be able to send to Earth huge solar "hares".
