Large Magellan Cloud

Having wandered around the world planet for the first time, the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan and his crew had plenty of time to explore the southern hemisphere skies. As a result, two cloudy, cloud-like objects, which are easily observable for the skywatchers on the southern hemisphere and are now understood to be satellite clouds of our much larger spiral Milky Way Galaxy, are known as the Magellan Clouds. The Great Magellanic Cloud, located at about 160,000 light-years in the Dorado constellation, is shown in detail in this 10-square mosaic painting. The Great Magellanic Cloud is the largest mass satellite satellite of the Milky Way with a width of about 30,000 light-years, and also hosts the nearest supernova (SN 1987a), which has taken its place in contemporary times. At the bottom of the Resmince is a reddish knot, a gigantic star formation region within the Great Magellanic Cloud, 30 Swordfish, or Tarantula Nebula. To find the location of the supernova and to find your way among the countless star clusters and nebulae of the BMB, it would be sufficient to look at the beautifully marked picture there.
