Planet in front of Sirius?

in astronomy •  8 years ago

Does anyone know what the planet or moon is in front of Sirius? I have been noticing it for some time now and only now thought to ask others about it. It's a giant black object that seems to be blocking the light of the star. I have included images below that kind of explain how to see it. It is a giant object that the light does not penetrate below the star itself. You see a bunch of "light streaks" going in all directions but you have to keep trying to bring it into focus (the object not the star). It is located "in front and below" Sirius the star. I am located in Colorado, near the Littleton area by the way. If that makes a difference.
