My photographic entry " Journeys End" - Vehicles.
I took this image of old abandoned cars in Middelpos in 2009. Scattered at the back of the settlement were a number of hulks that must have broken down over the years. In this remote spot you were to far from a garage that could do a repair. I suppose in some case abandoning your car was all you could do.
When I visited the area again a few years later this wonderful group of wrecks had been removed. Photographed with a Canon 5D.
The pixels were punished in Lightroom.
In the middle of nowhere
Middelpos is a tiny settlement in the middle of an area bounded by the towns of Ceres, Sutherland, Calvina and Williston in the Great Karoo, South Africa. If you are adventurous you can journey there from the Tankwa

History, told in a wonderful way with pictures of outlaying dorps (towns), old cars if fixed would be worth a fortune today.
How quiet and peaceful a life one lives, although hard working folk run these towns.
