The storm raged outside as the old man looked out the window. It had been forever since he had felt the cold rain on his face and the wind in his hair. The orderlies wouldn't let him go outside in normal conditions, let along a storm of this magnitude. It was pretty late, he wondered if he could sneak by the front desk. Worth a try he thought. What did he have to lose?

The old man wheeled his chair into the lobby of the building.

So far so good.

And then past the front desk - where the guard was sleeping and into the middle middle of the front lawn. He pointed his face to the sky. The rain pelted his him, and soaked his hair. It made him feel a live.

Suddenly.

"Zap." A bolt of lightning came from the sky and hit the man in the wheelchair, turning him to ash. And as suddenly as the lighting had happened - the storm broke and the sky cleared. There was no sign of the man.

Everyone wondered where he went, as all that was left was his wheel chair. Some said heaven. Some said someone took him.

But we know the truth.

Yes! I really DO hope this brave old man spent his last moments on earth like this :-) Alone, outside, with the fresh rain on his face. Free.

Thanks for taking the time to write me a story :-)

I would hope they didn't get stuck there. That would be pretty terrible. To have gotten stuck and then no one even came back for the chair.

Maybe someone took it out there as an art piece; like a statement on how even the things that helped us sometimes no longer have a place and we should let them go. Because even if we don't they're slowly rusting away.

That's very poetic @themanwithnoname - like your username! :-)

It looks creepy, I like it! 😃 I've seen a lot of abandoned stuff like this when I visited Chernobyl last year, so it reminds me of that!

Oh, yes @travelshots, chernobyl myst be a weird place to visit as well! How did you experience that place? Is it easy to enter? Is it safe, health wise? Did you go with your own transportation or visit via a booked tour? #curious :-)

Yes, it is! I have a post about Chernobyl that answers all your questions, you can find it here if you wanna read it! 😊 If you have questions left, feel free to ask! 😉

Thanks! I'll definitely read it :D

Jesus, this one creeped me out a bit. lol

Sorry! :’)

Don't apologize! Creepy is good!

Very good

Good post

should of got some close ups
but it was probably just abandon and eroded by weather

Now that is super creepy!

Yes, I thought so too! And it's also not like The Netherlands to leave stuff to rust like this as well, so... What's the story here? ;-)

Looks like something terrible happened here... I hope it went well for the person in the wheelchair.

This needs a story!

Maybe it's Freddy Kruger's chair when he got old
