Athabasca River near Fort McKay

The Athabasca river runs through the heart of Alberta moving large volumes of water to the Lake. The river has seen its share of controversy as it passes through the Oil sands region of northeast Alberta and provides potable water for a number of communities. Tlhe river's elevation has currently reached its spring high.
