"Carefully designed instruction is necessary to help students replace misconceptions with scientifically supported conceptions. "

To the above quote, I would reply: Truth is self-evident.

If you've read my previous posts, you're probably well aware that I am no fan of religions, organized or otherwise. As such, anywhere I encounter a system of beliefs and dogmas, I become immediately critical.

So when I found an article which lays out a blue print for "educating" students with "experiments" designed to prove the existence of evolution, my curiosity was as as piqued as I was confused. Within this article, however, one finds nothing more than "thought experiments" designed to lead students into a corner, tell them what they are looking at and quash all attempts at critical thinking.

It is literally a training manual for indoctrination. It's really kind of sad when you consider that Science is supposed to be "measurable, quantifiable, repeatable"...HARD sciences, at least. Everything else should be considered as little more than Art meets Dogma in my most humble opinion. It has carried us farther along than that of just blind adherence to the Church, but the Scientists are quickly ushering in a new age of "Do not question the received Wisdom."
