I’ve gotten some pushback on my assertion on this and to be honest, It’s a bit astonishing to me.
This essay is about 80% exactly what I’d say myself. The other 20% is extra arguments on the same side, not disagreement. I wish I had written the piece.
If you read this essay and still think Biden should be nominated by the party at the convention, and you’d like to tell me why, I’d be grateful to hear why 1/ you think the essay is wrong, or 2/ why you plead “no contest” to the essay but a/ you think it isn’t a moral travesty to nominate him, and b/ you think that neither Harris nor anyone else would do better than him, including a mechanism for Harris that doesn’t require any ballot or legal issues such as a pledge from Biden to resign on Inauguration Day.
