Please note : All Aubrey's posts will now be made from this account. Sorry for the delay- blogging all week to create monies for the winner received over 200 views in total, but yet still didn't raise much funds for the cause- which is not helpful. I was waiting to get a little more in before announcing the winner.
So the entries were based on the following creative writing context.
- Imagination
- Storytelling
- Emotion
Not based on grammar, punctuation or reputation of source. I will focus ONLY on the positive aspects of the writing.
Here's a few observations. (The full stories are at the bottom)
- The story of the redheaded purple squirrel by @bashadow was fun, it caught my attention straight away because of the boldness of the character traits. The story was concise and the character was engaging and it's great to say this author has gone on to write more about the squirrel!
- The creative narrative of a true story by @alex451 had a nice flow that encouraged a deep after thought of relativity. It gave me a reason to reflect on what I have in life.
- @cecicastor wrote a short story about Claire which spiralled into more which is brilliant, but I can only comment on the first. This short story was intriguing and brought in a level of suspense that kept my interest. What I liked was the level of detail, it wasn't over kill but enough to keep my interest going.
- I enjoyed reading the story THEY from @deerjay, an almost poetic tale with a twist. Short, but it left me with it in my thoughts. The sign of a gripping tale.
With all the above in mind, I chose @deerjay because although short, It was imaginative and the clever use of THEY in the title created the story that led to a memorable entry.
Thank you all, and keep writing. Just because you didn't win this doesn't mean anything. You may win another and as always, I am just one person, others may have picked differently.
Much love and well done @deerjay
