The U.S. Marshalls are great at confiscating goods.
When the Silk Road (an illicit free-market trading website operated by Ross Ulbricht) was shut down they forced, after many threats, Ross to turn over the Bitcoin he owned to the government.

Now, after confiscating more Bitcoin, they are set to auction them later this month.
2,170 Bitcoins at $25 Million To Be Auctioned by U.S. Marshalls
This sale is planned for March 19th, 2018 from a release by the government this month.
Anyone aiming to bid on the Bitcoin must put down a $200,000 holding fee and sign-up before March 14th, to even be considered.
Many of these coins are in fact from the Silk Road case (if you haven't read the story pick up this book here - American Kingpin) because one of the secret service agents, Shaun Bridges, stole tons of Bitcoin thinking they were untraceable (silly Shaun Bridges).

Last time the U.S. government had a massive sale of Bitcoin this proved to be one of the most laughable auctions because the price has since skyrocketed.
Will we see this happen again as many of the expert projections show a $50,000 Bitcoin or more by the end of year?
Only time will tell...
Last time they sold 2,700 Bitcoin in 2016 it was worth about $1.6 million, and next time, we at GCA are bullish that it will be worth far more than what they are going to be bought for.
The economy is slowly turning to that of a blockchain and Bitcoin and these next few years will be exciting.
