Djokovic just became my favorite tennis player

I don't even watch tennis man, but I do love someone that sticks to their guns even if it means financial losses. I'm sure everyone knows what I am talking about but the guy won't get vaccinated and just tried to visit the land of the most crazy Covid rules in the world, Australia. The media there is a lot like the media in the US is in that they tried to just bash him all the time saying how awful he is for trying to get into the country unvaccinated, but it's not like this was a huge secret anyway.

I haven't been following it really closely because again, I don't watch tennis and have only tried to play it a few times in my life but I do admire it when someone gets devoted to something such as resisting medical tyranny and then sticks with it. Australian officials from what little I read tried to demonize him saying that he lied on his forms or something but at the same time even if he did lie on the forms Australia's Immigration system approved the application already.

I also seriously doubt that he actually fills out his own forms - he probably has someone that does that for him and he just signs it at the end - I know if I had that sort of fame and money that I would never fill out a form ever again in my life. I'd hire someone with a pen to be around me at all times.

In the end he went to court and the court found him not guilty and approved him to play but then some other government jackaloon deported him anyway. I hope that in response that Djokovic and others will now boycott the Australian Open. I was reading the other day that a ton of tickets have been turned in for refunds and it might be a record for the most tickets ever turned back in for a major tennis event. I'm not sure about that but there are a lot of people out there that are pissed off at Australia already, and this just makes them even more so.

back on the ol' private luxury jet with ya!

What's it going to take for the people of Australia to rise up and end all of this? The people have the power if they want it. I don't really follow Australian politics but during their next elections I will pay attention because it would be really interesting to me to see the people vote all of the officials that have been making their lives hell for the past few years out of office.

A "great reset" can indeed happen in the world because of Covid, but not the kind the overlords were hoping for if the people just get out there and take the power back. Sure, they'll probably just be replaced by other folks that end up being tyrants themselves eventually, but at least for a little while it could put the fear back in politicians - and this would be a good thing.

In the meantime I may actually watch some tennis the next time Djokovic plays and I think he is going to earn a huge amount of new fans out of this. While it might be a temporary setback for the man, it could end up being really good for him in the long run because he just became a hero to a lot of people like me.
