This month, The Indian Sun magazine’s 8-year-old business networking platform, Indian Executive Club, has rebranded itself "IndEX". The move looks to establish a more contemporary identity for an evolving business-to-business platform. "IndEx" will continue with more rigour in recognising and profiling talented individuals from the business community.

Through this rebranding exercise, we aim to better highlight the group’s work and emphasise digital communication tools while aligning it more closely with the publication. Our networking events will now be organised through MeetUp, the popular digital platform meant to bring communities and like-minded groups together. Our themes of discussion will be largely centred on real estate, finance, entrepreneurship and disrupting technologies. We are also broadening the scope of Who's Who in Melbourne and rechristening it to "Influencer". Watch this space for more on the Influencer.

In 2015, The Indian Sun embraced a digital-first strategy in order to rely less heavily on print readership and advertising. We've also wanted to give our ever growing online readership more value through social media and our regular newsletters. The magazine, which focuses on community issues, culture, politics and profiling of entrepreneurs and executives will roll out another weekly newsletter this year under the IndEx platform to our business community. Stay tuned for more in the coming issue.

The issue also features an interview with the enterprising Nikhil Daftary, a chartered accountant turned condom retailer, who established the Moments brand. Daftary tells The Indian Sun about how he came to Australia to study chartered accountancy but ended up becoming the CEO of Coral Healthcare, a company he founded, in 2017. His company was a finalist for Australia Post’s ORIA Award for the Best New Online Retailer of the Year, and in 2018, Coral Healthcare bagged the Indian Executive Club award for Micro Business of the Year Award. In February, Moments Condoms will partner with the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras to further their support for the health and wellbeing of all people.
