Footy star Bradley Xavier has called 2018 his redemption year, having been named one of five VFL multicultural ambassadors to spread the word on Australian Rules football to youth of diverse cultural backgrounds. The Indian Sun is proud to be a sponsor of this 20-year-old boy from Madras, India, who came to Australia as a young boy and worked his way up to where he is now—a key position player.

An inspiration to young footballers around the country, Bad has participated in several pathway programs such as the Majak Daw squad, which aims to identify players of multicultural backgrounds, ages of 15 to 18, and provide specialised training. He now wants to pay it forward, and we at The Indian Sun are backing him all the way.

Heading off field, August sets the stage for some exciting events. The Indian Sun is on its fourth India Day celebrations, getting the community together to celebrate India’s Independence Day. Expect a lot of music and dance, festivities and festivities in this mega event of culture, art and food, meant also to help the younger generations understand the relevance of the day. Yes, there’s Bollywood and yes, there’s yoga.

Save the date on 5 August as well as Bollywood singer Shreya Ghoshal performs at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Indian playback singer has sung in almost every Indian language and has bagged more than eight Filmfare awards for her renditions of songs in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam. She received a National award and Filmfare award for Devdas (2002). Get ready to hear some of your favourites this August. Grab your tickets now.
