Woke up early in the morning to get everything ready for the day. I was inspired to make pork belly roast and yakitori style chicken bbq pieces. Took alot of work to break down the chicken to its separate components. I watched about 2 videos from the Michelin star yakitori chef from NY or somewhere in America.
Pork belly on the table
I first cooked the pork belly on the oven for 2 hours at 180 degree Celsius. The skin did not turn out like how I wanted. Which was a puffed up and crunchy skin. I added salt to dry the skin but oh well it was crunchy and yummy less the puffiness.
The kids enjoyed their day with water balloons
I know its water restriction and all but what the heck the kids need to have something they can enjoy on the day. Being hot and not having a pool sure has their limitations. I have been diligent with my water use within the house hold. I am sure god willing the rains will come again. After all the ice shelves are melting and sea levels are rising. Meaning more water! I think that line of thinking has substance.
Australia day sign
My youngest daughter @alypanda drew and coloured in the sign. My family really enjoys this day. I am patriotic at heart and have fully adopted Australia as my home and country. I am proud that she took the initiative in creating this. She was extra proud and insisted it be put up.
My brothers and I
After 3 cases of beer we are finally tanked and in full swing of Australia day celebrations. The middle is my older brother and the one on the left is my younger brother. As you can tell the effects of alcohol is in full swing.
Good things must come to and end
He had one too many at this point and is contemplating what the meaning of life is. HAHAHAHA I think at this point I decided to bring out the yakitori style chicken while he is down for the count.
Yakitori chicken and pork rib rack.
