The story behind the Indonesian flag is red and white

Exactly August 17, 1945, the Red and White flag flew. Since then Indonesia has an identity that is very proud of the community. The perpetrators of flag raisers at the time were Chudanco (Kompi Commander) Abdul Latief Hendraningrat and a young man from the ranks of the pioneers, Soehoed.

According to Soekarno, the soil in the archipelago was red, while the sap of the plant was white. Javanese have served red and white porridge for hundreds of years.

"Red is a symbol of courage, White is a symbol of purity. Our flag has been around for 6,000 years," continued Soekarno.
