Camaro REDUCE ENGINE POWER, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE STABILITRAK

in auto •  7 years ago  (edited)

Ok, so today on my nephews 2012 Camaro, outta the blue started getting a warning that the stability traction control and reduced power was on/affected,and would not go over 2k rpm. We had just installed an HID headlight kit lastnight, but no issues then. So this morning, that was really the only thing we could think of that was a cause of it. Looking for similar issues online returned 3 common resolutions, One was a bad throttle body, or something with the throttle boddy, 2nd was oddly the onstar computer, and the 3rd most common suggested fix was the MAP sensor. Well as it turns out none of these were the actual cause. Come to find out it was low tire pressure that was setting off this warning/limp mode. So, there you go, if you or someone you know owns a newer model camaro or any chevy that displays this warning, check your tire pressure 1st.003.jpg
