Chapter 3- Becoming a man at 11 years old

in autobiography •  8 years ago  (edited)

As I stared at the stain of blood on the garage floor I could picture the sight of what happened. I was told my father at slit his wrists and sat in the 95 geo prism with the car on and the garage door closed. I still to this day don't understand how I pushed him to this point.

I wasn't the greatest son, my father expected a lot of me, he suffered from obsessive compulsive disorder. Needless to say it wasn't easy to keep him happy. I knew it had something to do with the job and the situation in general between my family I guess life was really stressful for him and he refused to change in any way (still does). I was told by my best friend across the street that I since I told him about the note, he told his mom, his mom called the cops told my dads friend down the street and he got my father out of there.

As the months passed my dad sat in a rehabilitation center, he took antidepressants and spoke to doctors. I had went to go visit him and he wasn't looking well. It was sad to see him this way but anything was better then the stuff I witnessed before this....
