A vehicle becomes a Smart mobility and it is transformed into a “moving smart office/home” where information is coming and going while on the move. Technology required for this kind of feature includes “vehicle Network” enabling hi speed telecommunications, “Cloud” collecting various data that the vehicle creates and provide arithmetic ability, “Big data & AI” to analyze endless information in the digital environment and recreate into a useful data, “Cyber security technology” creating a comprehensive security system. The expansion of IoT based smart car will bring catastrophic changes to overall ecosystem of the automotive industry in the next 5 years. As we move forward with partial autonomous driving and connected technology, it will dramatically change the fundamentals of the auto industry and it will be a prelude to the era of smart cars. That is because automotive companies currently considered as manufacturing companies will be known as connected mobility service provider in the future. Like GM and Lyft, automakers will gain a new platform in digital service such as car sharing service, entertainment, commerce, driver health check and monitoring. (will be continued to series 8)

자동차가 Smart Mobility 가 되어, 이동하는 동안에도 정보가 이어지고 “움직이는스마트 오피스/홈”으로 거듭나게 된다. 이를 위한 기반기술은 자동차의 대용량-초고속 통신을 가능하게 하는 “Vehicle Network”, 자동차가 생성하는 각종 데이터를 수집하고 연산 능력을 제공하는 “Cloud”, 디지털 환경에서의 방대한 정보를 분석해 의미 있는 데이트로 재가공하여 활용하는
“Big Data & AI”, 통합적 보안 시스템을 구축하는 “Cyber Security 기술” 등으로 구성된다. IoT 기반의 스마트카의 확산으로 인해 향후 5 년간 자동차산업 생태계 전반에 파괴적 변화의 흐름을 몰고 올 것으로 예상된다. 부분적인 자율주행 기술과 커넥티드기술이 확산함에 따라, 자동차 산업의 펀더멘털이 급격히 변화할 것이며, 이는 차후 스마트 자동차로의 전환을 알리는 서곡이 될 것이다. 이런 확산은 제조업으로서의 역할에 치중해 왔던 자동차업체들이 Connected Mobility Service Provider 로도 자리매김하는 계기가 될 것이기 때문이다.
