NYC Cold Air Moving Along Questions Arise Next Week

Good morning everyone. We have a quiet day here today before we have a major change in how the air feels on our skin, so now's the time to dig through those closets and get your winter gear ready. Yes, winter....30's in November is the same as 30's in January, but earlier, so it'll actually feel colder because of the lack of steady decline in temps. That cold shot will be brief, but another will be on its heels in early to mid next week.

Enjoy this sunny and seasonal day today in the mid 50's, because we begin to cloud up tomorrow, then rain heads in by late afternoon/early eve. Highs tomorrow will also be in the mid 50's, but then drop considerably as that front passes by.

Areas N&W of the NYC area will surely see some brief flakes, with the best chance being in interior parts of New England. For us, I remain firm on the idea that we might see a brief mix of rain and wet flakes as things come to a close; while dropping into the low to mid 30's overnight.

Friday and Saturday are easy forecast-wise, but cold. Expect upper 30's to near 40 as highs on Friday with windy conditions. Then, winds will subside more towards a steady flow on Saturday, with upper 30's to low 40's and sunny skies again.

We modify into the low 50's Sunday, and that'll be the nicest day of the weekend.

Veteran's Day on Monday is looking nice and seasonably cool. Expect AM sun, then more clouds than sun as the day wears on; highs in the 50-55 range.

Then we begin to pivot and look towards our next shot of cold air. I'm sure social media is already going wild, but we take things slow and methodical here. We'll be keeping an eye (again), on the prospect of rain changing to a mix, or rain changing to snow at some point Tuesday/Wednesday. As of now, this means absolutely nothing. We are at Wednesday, looking at next Wednesday, and 2 systems ahead as we still need to get past tomorrow.

We'll do what we did several days ago with tomorrow's system, and say that the unseasonably cold air behind next week's system is likely. However, the precipitation (if any at all), and the type, is all up in the air right now and we'll keep an eye on it all.
