This is an old railway station by the lake. A lot of timber used to be floated along the lakes to this station where it would be loaded onto the trains. There was some passenger traffic too. The tracks have been taken away a long time ago. There is a cafeteria and a gift shop in the building now.

If the past few winters are any guide winter will really begin around New Year which is when the lakes froze and the snow started to stay on the ground.
