3 September 2010, shortly after take-off from Dubai Airport, a fire alarm went off on UPS Airlines Boeing 747 emergency landing procedure.
The pilots attempted to control the fire by activating the fire suppression system, but the situation was deteriorating and the crew had to land as quickly as possible.
The aircraft turned back, but the smoke filling the cabin blinded both pilots. The captain's oxygen system also failed and only the first officer remained at the controls.
Unable to read the controls or see what was happening outside, he had to carry out his own improvised.
