Well, you can get an economy class ticket from Europe to Southeast Asia for 500-600 EUR which is not that expensive for that flight with Qatar or Emirates. I would say that the price depends on the market, but the more demand the market has and more competition in it, the price will be lower so it is hard to answer if they are too expensive or not because I do not know what market did you have in mind.
