After recovering from paralysis, I have some new passions in life. I really like to serve others and help patients have a better experience by raising awareness at all levels. There really was no art for this important cause. So I created art for all to tell their story, at no charge. Whether they want Facebook cover photo's, or profile pictures. I know about design and have enjoyed doing it.
It was never about products in my mind until everyone started requesting it. So I found a good site RedBubble and I have designed everything already. It doesn't benefit me at zero percent profit on sales. I am here to provide tools that were previously unavailable.
If you visit www.GBSawareness.com and www.CIDPawareness.com you can see shirts and products available for purchase. These are meant to start conversations and for people to share their stories. I have designed clothing, bedding, scarfs, framed art, many clothing items for everything down to the onesies for the infants. People can select the shirt colors and these are great tools. Then the GBS and CIDP WARRIOR pins came to life as a result of some shield art I designed.
Tell your story, raise awareness. I am very mindful, after my experience, of those who are becoming paralyzed, slow or fast, before diagnosis. It is very scary, and even the medical community, including Doctor's on many levels, should understand symptoms of this genre of symptoms and get them to the emergency room asap. There is great potential for recovering if you get the needed lifesaving treatments and possibly critical care. Statistics show that only 5% of patients die because they weren't able to make it to the hospital. People are on life support in certain cases, and much more. GBS has historically been about 1 in 100,000 people in the world. Although cases are rising in certain parts of the world.
