Awareness, as a state of being, is not something that we are born possessing. It is a process which develops in us over the course of many years. The awareness we all have come to us through a process of conscious effort on our part to notice things around us, especially those things that appear to be out of place in our lives. Once you learn how to cultivate awareness in your daily life, you will find that it becomes a powerful source of strength and power. It can help us to manage every aspect of our lives-from career and relationships to health and wellness.
How do we cultivate awareness? Awareness comes to us through a series of steps: We become aware that we exist; we begin to understand that there are other beings and things outside of ourselves; we begin to recognize our connection with this world and everything in it; and we begin to see the connections among our thoughts, feelings, words and actions. This awareness - is a powerful tool that we can use to gain an inner understanding of who we are and what we want out of life. In fact, the awareness - that we find when we pay attention to ourselves can lead to an enhanced ability to manage life in an effective and meaningful way. However, if we do not pay attention to ourselves, we can lose sight of who we are and who we really are capable of becoming.
Where does awareness lie within us? The awareness that we experience in our daily lives is necessarily a reflection of our level of consciousness at that moment. In other words, if we are paying attention to our thoughts, feelings and words, we are creating awareness. If, on the other hand, we are not paying attention to these things, we are not creating awareness. Similarly, if we find ourselves in the alpha or the state of consciousness, where we are neither asleep nor awake, we are in a state of awareness. And in this situation, we are open to receive the benefits of being in the alpha or the flow states of consciousness, which in turn will bring about an enhanced quality of life for us.
Awareness brings us back to the basics of life, which is why it can be considered a life force or energy. When we are in the alpha or the flow states of consciousness, we are living from the essence of who we are. We are not striving for some external goal. We are simply taking care of ourselves, allowing everything to be as it is. When we are able to let go of our desires to the point of no longer wanting them, we can then look at the world with new eyes, seeing it for who it is without the struggle of trying to change it for the better.
There are those who believe that being in the alpha or flow states requires a lot of work. This may have been true in the past, but with modern technology and the development of the mind-body connection - linking our physical, mental and emotional states together - consciousness can be easily accessed and brought into play. This is the reason why many people have claimed to experience a direct encounter with the divine while they are in a highly creative state. In the state of awareness, it is said that all of our experiences, both good and bad, are the moment-to-moment. With this new perspective, it is now possible to live with less conflict and more contentment.
If we are to explore consciousness further, we need to identify what it is that brings about the changes that occur in each of us. We can choose to practice yoga or meditation to deepen our understanding of this spiritual awakening within ourselves. By doing this, we will be able to transform our negative behaviors, beliefs and tendencies into positive ones, making us happier and wiser.
