Herbert Uells

      İngilis yazıçısı və alimi Herbert Corc Uells (1866-1946) elmi-fantastik ədəbiyyatın ən tanınmış simalarından biridir. O, "Dünyaların savaşı" , "Görünməz adam" , "Doktor Moronun adası" , "Zaman maşını" , "Aydakı ilk insanlar" , "Allahların qidası" və s. məşhur romanları ilə yanaşı, "Möcüzə yaradan" , "Sehirli dükan" , "Büllur yumurta" , "Pərilər ölkəsində" , "Qəribə səhləb çiçəyi" , "Almaz düzəldən adam" və s. kimi kəskin  süjetli hekayələrin də müəllifidir. Yazıçının yuxarıda adları çəkilən romanları 1919-cu ildən indiyə kimi dəfələrlə ekranlaşdırılmışdır.

      H.Uellsin ilham mənbəyi görkəmli fransız yazıçısı Jül Vernin yaradıcılığı olmuş, xüsusən də onun "Aya səyahəti"ndən ilhamlanaraq "Aydakı ilk insanlar" romanını qələmə almışdır. H.Uells sonralar elmi-fantastikada böyük populyarlıq qazanmış bir çox mözuların müəllifidir. O, hələ 1898-ci ildə zəhərləyici qazlar, aviasiya, lazerə bənzəyən qurğuların istifadəsi ilə aparılan müharibələri, 1914-cü ildə yazdığı "Azad olmuş dünya" romanında isə atom bombasını təsvir etmişdir. Lakin bütün orjinal ideyalar H.Uells üçün ilk növbədə cəmiyyətin sosial-tənqidi tərəfləri daha qabarıq vermək üçün vasitə olmuşdur.
