Amazing Azaleas

in azaleas •  7 years ago

Azaleas are part of the Rhododendron Family. You could call them smaller cousins. Azaleas are putting on a great show here in my home City of Sydney right now. They are suited for cold to temperate climates, and prefer a slightly acid soil for optimum growth. Plenty of water and mulch around the roots to conserve moisture in Summer will ensure that you have good growth and flowering. The smaller growing varieties prefer part shade, and the taller varieties will tolerate more sunny positions. Azaleas are native to several continents, Asia, Europe and North America. They are a favourite plant in many gardens around here. They come in many colors. Here are some red and pinkish varieties.

Hey how you been, noticed all the flower picks. Are you guys in blooming season there.

I've been good thanks, yeah it's springtime here now, so lots of plants are flowering.

Gipsys gonna like the red ones. Like it too :)

These flowers are lovely! Now I would like to get some seeds or small plants for my garden. I think this kind should work very well as the soil here is slightly acidic. This is because in the last villages used to grow tobacco plants.
Hope you are very well.
Cheers.

Hey there, yes i am well thanks. Best to get small plants, you can't really grow them from seed.

Okay! Thanks for your advice. I will get a plant at the plants market and see how it will grow outside the plant pot. Cheers.
