An Interesting Street Art Project in Angra do Heroísmo (Azores, Portugal)

in azores •  6 years ago  (edited)

Here are a few more shots from the Island of Terceira, Azores.

I found this project really cool and colourful. The windows of the building were used to serve as canvas for different portraits. It's a nice compliment to the already colourful cityscape of Angra do Heroísmo and a lot better to the eye than a closed, negleted building.

In this city, as in most Portuguese towns, the houses are painted with very diverse colours, which is a nice spectacle for the eyes... as you can see in the shot below.

These streetlamps are probably 100 years old already.

There are a lot of narrow streets like this, and if you don't know the place it feels like a labyrinth. It's quite easy to go around in circles, trying to understand what's the way out...

And obviously, the very Portuguese habit of parking everywhere doesn't help. Gladly, I was with a friend who lives in this city, so I had no trouble going from A to B in the shortest time possible! 🙃 😂

I hope you've enjoyed these photos. Please leave a comment.

I like the look of that building - if you wouldn't have told met they are windows I wouldn't have known :)

Thanks for your visit, @seadbeady! ☺️

Great photoes. Thanks for sharing. The first one is really cool!

Thanks for stopping by, @digi-me.

I really liked the house with the picture-windows... in my town there are several empty houses and their appearance is just terrible.

Thanks. I'm glad you liked it!

Lovely photos @trincowski.
In my opinion, the wall, alongside the colorful buildings is an expression of acceptance and internationalism - Portugal is certainly not lacking in character. Beautiful.

Thanks, @lady-idra. I'm glad you liked it.
