Engine In-Flight Start

Note : An engine in-flight start is not allowed if %N1 or %N2 shows zero rpm

There in no minimum oil quantity requirement for an engine in-flight start. However, after engine start, oil quantity should return to normal.

Note : - Max EGT is 725 degrees C

  • Cabin pressure may temporarily decrease during an in-flight crossbleed start
  • Position Start Lever to IDLE detent at minimum of 11% N2
  • EGT must increases within 30 seconds after placing start lever in IDLE (instead of 10 seconds on GND)
  • The EEC Abnormal Start Protection is inhibited for engine in-flight start !

! Successful engine in-flight start is only guaranteed within the published envelope. However, a start may and should be attempted outside the envelope.
