Babe Ruth Retiring: A day that will live in infamy, for any New York Yankee, baseball or over zealous sports fan for that matter. Growing up an avid baseball fan and card collector. It is hard to not marvel at the history, legacy and even Myth of the Great Bambino. One of the greatest hitters of all time and even holding some pitching records. He Slugged 714 home runs. 2213 runs batted in (RBIs), 2,062 walks (bases on balls), slugging percentage (.6897), and 1.164 on-base plus slugging (OPS); of which the latter two still stand today.

And to think Boston traded him. I 1920, the New York Yankees major league baseball club announces its purchase of the heavy-hitting outfielder George Herman “Babe” Ruth from the Boston Red Sox for the sum of $125,000, or roughly 1.6Million in todays cost of living. Equate that to roughly 667 bitcoin. Side note, Ruth had played six seasons with the Red Sox, leading them to three World Series victories. Awesome move, bosox. At what point in the future do we see stock valuation of Major league baseball players and all professional sports, for that matter be assessed in cryptocurrency. Babes overall salary was 786K equivalent to 8.8M by todays standards. Or 40,000 ETH. If you take into account inflation and other variables. who knows.
s STILL in circulation; even if it is a diabetes stick in plastic. The guy was and is a legend....Maybe we should have a crypto called the "BABE"
